Nomination Guidelines
The individual nominated should have made a positive impact on the City of Cohoes or the people of Cohoes during the last year. (2000 - 2001) This award is designed to honor individuals for work above and beyond the call of duty. This recognition is designed to honor those individuals that have made, or are making a difference in the City of Cohoes. Their actions have singled them out as individuals who are willing to take action where others have not; to act without expecting anything in return; and to do these acts for the betterment of others, not themselves. These individuals do not need to be residents of Cohoes, but should be nominated based on their positive impact on the City of Cohoes. All nominations will be given equal consideration. Our definition of public servant is anyone who is employed by the City of Cohoes or the Cohoes Public School District. All nominations should have appropriate documentation. This will be in the form of an essay and can be supplemented with verbal statements; published articles; photographs or other appropriate data. Nominees will be considered by the content of the nominations, not the number of nominations. A committee of community representatives will be responsible for reviewing and making the selections. The committee will make the final decision. Their decision should not be looked upon as diminishing the work or importance of the other nominees. Individuals may be nominated again in the future.
